Preparation is an important part of your Kambo journey. By taking a few simple steps before your treatment, you create the right conditions for the process to work safely and effectively. This preparation also helps you enter the session with clarity, focus, and respect for yourself and the treatment.

PHYSICAL PREPARATION

  • Fasting: It is recommended not to eat solid food for 8–10 hours before your treatment. This allows the body to be clear so the process can unfold more smoothly. You may drink water in the morning, but avoid overhydrating.

  • Hydration: In the days leading up to your session, drink plenty of clean water so your body is well hydrated. This supports the cleansing process.

  • Avoid substances: Refrain from alcohol, recreational drugs, or caffeine for at least 24 hours before your treatment.

  • Medications: Please inform your practitioner of any prescribed medications or medical conditions beforehand, as some may contraindicate Kambo.

Mental and emotional preparation

Kambo works not only on the body but also on the mind and emotions. Approaching your treatment with a clear intention can help guide your experience. Ask yourself what you are ready to release or what you wish to call in.

Take time before your session to:

  • Reflect or journal on your intention

  • Practice gentle meditation or breathwork

  • Rest well the night before

  • Enter the space with an open mind and trust in the process

WHAT TO BRING

  • Comfortable, loose clothing

  • A water bottle

  • A blanket or warm layer (as body temperature can shift)

  • Anything that helps you feel safe and grounded (e.g., crystals, small personal items, journal)

WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE DAY

Your practitioner will guide you step by step through the treatment. The session usually begins with drinking water, followed by the application of Kambo through small points on the skin. The active process typically lasts 20–40 minutes, during which the body may purge. This is a natural and important part of the cleansing process.

Afterwards, you may feel tired, peaceful, and reflective—or equally, energised and light. Each experience is unique, and your practitioner will support you throughout.

AFTERCARE

Integration is key. Rest after your session if possible, and drink plenty of clean water. Eat nourishing, light foods such as fruits, soups, or vegetables to support your body’s recovery. Journaling, meditation, or quiet time in nature can also help ground the insights and clarity that arise.

I DONE IT!! I ACTUALLY DONE IT!!!! 🙈 For over a decade, anxiety controlled my life and held me back from doing so much (even day-to-day things people take for granted). BUT not anymore!
